I have a 1994 Nitro Fs 180 115hp merc and it's not getting any younger! I was wondering if there is anything i can do to repair some of the stress cracks on the finnish? The boat is white and teal and still looks great, but the stress cracks in the finnish are killin me!

Re: Stress cracks

GL3 - Stress cracks are normal for fiberglass boats. Paint is the only option.

Re: Stress cracks

Stress cracks bad....Nothing you can do, with the exception of removing a section of boat and replacing...If the cracks are about half way down the hull underneath the windshield, you may be starting to crack your boat in half...Sounds extreme, but this is where your biggest pressure point is. Stress cracks should not be common, it is the quality of the hull, or simply to rough of water that is giving you, and others cracks. I had a Baja that stress fractured everywhere, not a good advertisement for Baja durability. My Fountain, and my Checkmate have absolutely no cracks anywhere, and they see some very tough action...
