Wats up guys. So i just replaced my water pump and impeller on my outdrive on my stringer 800 due to my engine over heating. Im still having the same issue after i replaced it. I removed the thermostat housing and noticed thermostat was no good so i replaced it. I also noticed that the hose coming from the outdrive going to the housing had really low pressure, and engine is still getting hot.. What can my issue be?? Any suggestions

Are you sure that you have the water pump assembled correctly? Did you seal the pump with #2 Permatex?. Is the circulating pump impeller in one piece, they are known to rust and break. Or slip on the shaft. With the boat in the water, remove the hose from the drive to thermostat, with the engine at idle try to use your thumb to stop the water flow. You should not be able to hold it back. If you can hold it back then the pump is not assembled right. If you cannot hold it back then you may have a blocked exhaust manifold, or a leaking head gasket over coming the incoming water pressure. Add a piece of clear hose to the incoming water to thermostat housing. If bubbles travel toward the thermostat then the pump in the drive is the problem. If the water seems to disappear in the hose there is a head gasket leak.
