Hi

I am about to install my stringers this weekend if the weather permits me to do so. what i wanted to know can i glue them to the bottom of the hull with PL Premium???

First off, might want to do a search about stringer replacement. Second, pictures always help. Third, I have heard of people sticking down stringers with PL, however, you still need something that you can make a fillet at the bottom with because the fiberglass will not turn at 90 degrees. Also if you search the forum someone pointed out that the PL is not made for the marine environment. The big thing to remember is the fiberglass is what gives the strength in the stringer system.

Many here have, personally I use a thickened resin mix, and then some stringers don't even go all the way to the hull, I've cut many of them out with a gap under them and just bridged over with glass.... So don't get too bent out of shape over the installation method.

A good tabbing job is more important than what they are bedded in....

Thanks for the info , and also when i willput up the floor the 1/2" ply i will be using for floor do i need to glass it both side before installing it???,
