Ok….I finally got around to picking up a motir for my 90 sea ray sundancer with the 7.4, 454 in her…I knew I was going to rebuild the motor mounts due to one of the lags being stripped out in the wood, but what I didn’t know was when I cut away the front of the mount(glass) that behind it where the mount mounts up to that the wood stringer behind that was rotten too…I’m thinking about cutting away the top of the stringer & getting all the rotten wood out of tgere & picking up some of that sea cast or something similar & pouring that in place of the rotten wood…has anyone here tried this before? Any suggestions?

guaranteed the transom is rotten too. SeaRay used wood until the early 00's

your 32 year old SeaRay will have a multitude of structural issues

Let’s just concentrate on the question at hand. Have you ever had any experience with something like sea cast? I will deal with the transom at a later date

Seacast is a 50/50 mixture of bondo and resin and you mix in chopped up bits of old boat hulls (provided in the kit)

Did one boat with seacast. Never again. 2x the cost and the same amount of work

What about something similar?
I would use marine ply or ACX and use poly

Most likely your transom and stringers are bad

May only go to the next bulkhead, may go all the way to the bow
