I have a tomos 9.9 and the tiller throttle gear is stripped. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for replacing the gear?
Take a look here...
It can be seen that when the handle is turned the handle gear rotates and extends/retracts the mating throttle gear (it can also be seen that the problem/stripped gear is on the handle).
This extended gear has a metal flat that is connected to a throttle plate...
This plate then moves to extend and retract the throttle cable. You can see in this picture that a throttle moving lever has been rigged, but I would really like to get the tiller throttle working again.
Any thoughts? Should I give up and move on to other projects and use the improvised throttle?
