this is my first year changing more lower unit and of course i can't get the bottom drain plug out. i had the marina do it last year, do they use a machine or a huge drill or something? i don't want to run it to the marina just for a lower unit change because of a stuck plug. what else can do?

1/2 in wide screw driver, and a lot of pressure pushing in. don't mess it up.

What TD said...if the screwdriver shaft tapers, put weight on it and a wrench on the taper just up from the plug and apply some leverage. Or an impact wrench...never can have enough tools.

I like a good impact driver on stubborn screws where heat can't be applied.

Hammer + screwdriver = FUN

Put pressure on the screw driver and tap the end with a hammer. You
don't have to pound it just tap it while twisting LEFT. That should do it.
