When at the lake on Sunday I turned it all the way to the left, it would not straighten out.
I messed with it and got the boat loaded. I got home and turned it all the way to the left and there it sets. I noticed that it was hard to turn while on the lake.
Any suggestions?
It is a 2003 Starcraft 196 superfisherman.

Not sure what you have for a steering system, but since you have a new boat...

Disconnect the steering cable from the motor.
turn motor left and right and determine if the problem is in the motor swivel.

Turn the wheel and watch the cable to see if it moves freely, it may be binding in the cable sleeve.

Perhaps they used a cable that is too long, and had to loop the excess, which may be binding up.

Keep us posted on what you find.

I'd take it to the dealer and have them fix it. I assume that it's still under warranty. Give them a chance and they may surprise you if they believe in customer service.

Re: Stuck going left

I had a similar problem with my shifting cables with my boat when I brought it home. It shifted hard and sometimes seemed to lock up (made it kinda exciting). It was just a twist in the cable from the front to the back of the boat inside of that "sleeve - like" tubing.
