I removed everything that the manual said to remove. The power head is stuck. I tried tapping on it and rocking it.... rock solid. Everything has been removed; wires, carb, coils, flywheel ,shifter, mounting bolts ect. Is the power head melted to the drive shaft housing? The engine was overheated by previous owner. Anyone ever run into this?

Thanks

Re: Stuck powerhead

The 9.9hp and the 15hp models have a powerhead that really sticks to the exhaust housing upon which it sits for some reason.

Laying a 2x2 or 2x4 against the side of the powerhead where it will do no damage, tap it rather smartly with a good size hammer.

Re: Stuck powerhead

Thank you! Ok I got the powerhead off. Now the crankshaft housing is stuck. Tried hammer and block of wood. I want to open it up and look at the crankshaft.
Ideas?
Thanks

There are center main bearing bolts' under the leaf plate. Did you take those out?
