I'm trying to remove the tilt/trim unit (apparently I've got a bad tilt/trim motor) but the big pin that goes through the piston is seized up. Does anyone know how I can get this out? I've beat on one end of the pin trying to get it to move, but I don't want to booger up both ends so that it can't come out.

Any help is appreciated.

wanted to add....this is on a 96 112HP Evinrude I believe.

Alot of us have been there, done that, and we feel your pain.

Just be careful not to "mushroom" one end. It will eventually come free with plenty of lube and a BFH! May also need some heat. There are oodles of threads on this, try searching it.

We use an air hammer and heat. Using the old punch and hammer usually ends up mushrooming the ends and then you have a real mess.
