hi i have a 15hp evinrude "89 model", i really cant figure out how to disconnect the shift rod from the gear select lever to drop down the lower unit, i am a apprentice mechanic on mercurys but have not done evinrudes before, any ideas?
Seperate the gearcase from the leg enough to so you can disconnect the upper shift rod from the coupler through the space.Forgot to mention you need to post this type question in the Evinrude Johnson section.
