Stumped on steering

After replacing the Gimbal Ring on my #1R Mercruiser, the steering is much better. There is still a bit of play though and I have isolated it. Before installing the ring, i also installed a new Teleflex NFB Rack steering helm and cable. The cable is tight on the steering tube, but there is a bit of in-out play. Is there an adjsutment on the helm somewhere that I missed? Can't believe a new cable should have this much play. I have verifed it's not in the steering arm or transom connections... You can watch the cable move in/out the end of the steering tube.

I've Never had a system like your's apart before,<br />The old 1 I did have apart,<br />I Don't remember Any kind of Adjustment to Tighten the lash between the Rack,+ the Pinion......<br /><br />Can you feel the Slop at the Wheel ?????<br /><br />Is the Outer Cable Housing Secure ???

All connections seem tight and there is virtually no slop in the wheel due to the NFB mechanism. I'll probably see if Teleflex has a tech support number. It just befuddles me that I can't figure this out....
