'95 Bayliner 1700 Capri LS, open bow.
The lower end of my ski locker has a drain hole that is supposed to drain into the back of the boat. Something is plugging up the hole. I used a cloths hanger and was able to pull out some weeds and other stuff. I realized the gas tank is down there attached to the floor and stopped because I didn't want to damage the tank as the cloths hanger had a sharp tip. What's interesting or maybe a bit strange is at times I could push the hanger through and at other times I couldn't, yet the drain remains plugged.

What could be blocking the drain?
How or what can I use to run through and hopefully clear the drian and not damage the gas tank?

Was going to suggest the same thing. Get the garden hose out and aim and fire. Whatever is in there should work its way out

Is the bilge compartment that it drains into clogged and full of water?

Okay Thx I'll try the garden hose. My brother also has high pressure air and will try that next.

No, the bilge area is completely dry. Even after using the boat only about a table spoon came out once I opened the drain behind the boat.

I'll keep posting and hope I can get it cleared.

Thx, Dave

Dave I don't think I was clear. The compartment that the locker sits in has a bulkhead under the floor. This compartment has a drain to the back of the boat and it may be clogged. If you can see forward from your bilge and under the floor then run a wire thru those forward drains. If not try this: Plug the drain in the locker. With it plugged pump out the water in the locker. When empty pull the plug and see if some water runs back into the locker. If that bilge compartment is not draining then some water will run back into the locker. At that point you will have to make sure all drains under your floor are clear.

Mine wouldn't drain the ski locker also. Clogged up at the tank. Had to pull the tank anyway due to gas smell. Found all sorts of litter in there causing the plugup. Leaves, nuts and bolts, fishing tackle, candy wrappers, celophane off cigarette packs, on and on. No way a hose or snake was going to clear that mess! The tank was pitted due to held moisture. Good Luck
