Stupid little gear lube pump????

Has anyone found or discovered a better way to get the Gear Lube Oil into the outdrive..
I have an Alpha 1 Gen 1 and using that stupid little pump is just a messy joke!!
Somebody has got to have a better way??

A better way would be to hire a mechanic.
Inadament objects are not capable of stupidity.

You might not be doing it right.

Done correctly you spill little if any oil.....

1. Pump it in the bottom (drain)
2. Before removing the nozzle, cap the top
3. Remove nozzle and cap drain.

well, ya gotta fill it from the bottom up. i know of nothing else to accomplish the deed other than the gear lub pump.

it's just that last step. when it's full, and the lub is running out the vent hole that it could be messy at. try putting the vent plug back in after it's full. then, with your drain plug screw ready to go, with the seal on the screw, ready to go. unscrew the lub pump. keep inward pressure on it till it's unscrewed. then if one fast move. remove the pump and install the screw. you should only lose a little lub. wipe it up and yer done...

besides. a little gear lub on your hands will smell good. for me, it makes me remember growing up and changing the lub with granddad on his o/b's back in the 60's..

Ayuh,... If ya get 1 with the metal screw-in end, life is reasonably Easy....
If yer Handy at all...

The plastic, hold it in-place 1s,... Suck...

besides. a little gear lub on your hands will smell good. for me,

Gear lube, Hyd. oil, 'n Diesel fuel is a daily thing fer Me,....

search is your friend... I learned on here to buy a cheap 1 gallon lawn sprayer at Lowes, put the fitting from the cheap crappy lube pump on it and then push lube into the drive that way... works like a champ, and gear lube is a nice skin softener... ;-)
