I know this sounds dumb but the manual i have doesnt say and im not sure at all. Is this the hydraulic steering reservoir? I thought it was up front by the steering wheel.

This is just a wild guess but in picture two there is a chart with colors, do you have four caps that match those colors? If you do, I think the yellow chart bar reads engine oil.

I didnt even realize the chart there. But really engine oil like the 25w 40 engine oil that I put in the engine. I assumed the engine oil sits in the engine. I didnt know there was a reservoir for it. I guess i'm stumped if this is the same thing. Im very new to this so excuse my ignorance.
OK, I just looked but there is a yellow cap that is the engine filler tube. That is what i think its referring to. The thing im asking about is something else.

It's the trim/tilt system. You use Mercruisers branded trim oil, 10w30 motor oil or just about any hydraulic oil. Some use auto trans oil because it's red. If it leaks then you can identify it easier.
