Stupid? Thermostat gasket ?

I'm changing the thermo in my 305 merc. Can anyone tell me which of these gasket I should use. Notice the "weep hole" around the thermo. And the notched area in that upper casting?

Anyways, since I cant finger out the pics I'll try to explain. There is a 1/4 Hole cast on one side of the thermo. The cap has a large square void where that hole is. Now there are two gaskets that would cover that hole. One of which is regular gasket material and the other a rubbery substrate with 4 small brass bushings. The 3rd gasket is cut to the shape of the cap with room for the void. It also has elongated holes. The kit also came with a blockoff plate and two O-rings of which Im assuming are no use to me.

The gasket on the right is the one that goes there. One of the others fits between the housing and the manifold.
