the only thing to keep me from throwing it out is pride, I already bought a new one.

97 featherlite xt65 with a 24cc engine, walbro wa226 carb, just rebuilt it hopefully properly, new plug, clean muffler

if I spray alcohol or wd40 into the engine, it runs for 2 to 5 seconds but stalls, plug is wet.

is there something I could be overlooking or missed when I rebuilt the carb? unfortunately the kit had extra parts for different models of the carb, so I'm not even sure I used all the parts needed

Pull the muffler off and look at the remove the spark arresting screen. I'll bet it's plugged solid. Either leave it out or replace it. Then give it a try.

checked that, was perfectly clean. I pulled the jug off to check the rings see if theyre free and it was, but I broke it putting it back together, so now I'm throwing it out, not buying gaskets and rings when I could get a new still for 137 and parts are 99
