Unfortunately my first post is and emergency. my engine was submerged overnight in a freshwater lake here in florida. It was pulled out and the plugs were removed/most of the water expelled. Then it sat for a week like that before I was able to run some alcohol and oil through it. The crank turns fine and the oil is well circulated. I request the expert opinions of the members of this site on whether I should try to start it now or if this will inevitably cause more damage.

Re: Submerged Engine Emergency

Earle, sorry about your luck.

It may not matter but I would recommend posting your engine year, make, model & HP.

Hope you find good news...

It is a 75 merc 115, but I wanted to get the opinions of anybody that had experience with this type of thing.
