Suggestion for a used small outbord 8 to 15HP

I have never owned an outboard motor. I currently have a 20' Wellcraft Steplift V20 with a 470 mercruiser I/O.
I want to get a used outboard kicker for it 10 to 15HP. My boat has an outboard bracket on it rated for Max 15HP.
Reliability is my key concern. I am open to suggestions as I don't have a particular brand in mind.
I was looking at a used Gamefisher but know nothing about them.

So any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

You need an outboard to place and retieve from bracket, or an engine that lives permanently on bracket, portability with les punch or heavier champ with more punch ? Is you bracket set for a short or long shaft engine ?

for reliability go for OMC if it's older and Yamaha it it's newer

Sea Rider Your question about setup on the bracket long or short shaft. I don't know. I looked at my OMC bracket
and I read that it was rated up to 15hp. How would one tell what its setup for. thanks
