A few years ago I picked up a 69 Evenrude 25HP motor for my 15' Maxxon RIB. It's been sitting for the past few years and I'm ready to get it going again. I had a motorcycle battery to start it up and that worked great, but I'm wondering if there's a sealed battery that works - how many amp hours or CCA do I need for this engine?
Also, how can I find out if it has the ability and/or equip it to charge my battery? I ready somewhere that a coil was required but I don't know a lot about boat motors so I don't know how I would figure that one out
.
I was going to pull the motor out of storage and start it up at home (in a large barrel of water obviously), is there anything that you would recommend I look at for an engine that was totally rebuilt 5 years ago that's been sitting for a couple years?
