My hull in the back near my bilge pump is shiny, smooth, white-painted fiberglass. It looks like the pump is original and was definitely installed while the engine was out. Now I'd like to install an automatic float switch, but I can't get my hand, a screwdriver and the switch into the area under the engine, let alone put enough pressure on that stuff to screw it down. I'm not a fan of putting holes in the hull, anyway.

Have any of you mounted a float to a board or piece of plastic and glued the board to the bilge area? I can't think of any other way to get the stupid thing in there.

It's 91 degrees and sunny, I've been fighting it all afternoon. This SUCKS. I should've been on the water!

Both my bilge pumps and float switch are mounted on a piece that was glassed in.

Can't see why gluing it wouldn't work as long as you can get it clean enough to adhere to the hull.

Gluing worked, tested it tonight and I'm in business! Thanks.
