Ok so I will tell you what I do know.
I run a Crestliner 1750 Fish Hawk, with a 130 Yamaha 2 stroke. When I bought the moter it had the factory Yamaha black SS 13 1/4"x19" prop.
It came out of the hole wicked fast and run close to max RPM's which is 6000 RPM for the 130. Operating range is 5-6000 RPM. It even blistered the paint off of the center of each blade.
So I went back to the seller and opted for a 13 1/4" x 21" factory Yamaha Black SS prop. It runs 5400 RPM and 53 MPH with normal load, the load has increased since the first ride, i.e. anchors etc. Cruises 37 MPH @ 4000 RPM.
So what I am looking for is , better out of the hole performance, More bow lift (the bow really seems to drag from in front of the counsol.so much so that I have the motor on the top holes to try to get enough trim) and a bonus would be cruise MPG.
I tried a Yamaha Pro 13x20 on July first week end which was incredible. Way more lift and better out of the hole. I was loaded so I did not get max RPMs.
The problem is the $760 price tag the local Yahama store wants. So I have been watching E Bay for something comparable.
Question #1 I know that Yamaha and Nissan are the same props. But Merc are different part #s, is this because of the lock nut only? Will my cotter pin/castle nut work?
#2 If so what Merc prop style would give me simular results? i.e. Bow lift/hole shot?
#3 Suzki/Johnson 4 stroke props, are they compatible? From all part # investigating I think they are.
#4 Would a 13 1/4-1/2 X 19 give me simualar results?
#5 Would a 4 blade give me more lift, better cruise while sacarficing top end?
.Thanks in advance
