I live in an area that the summers are burtal and thus, the heat and the sun's ability to play havok on the best cover material made me use something more cost effective for the period. I used to use a plastic cover, but due to its ability in retaining a tremendous amount of heat, it took a real toll on the boats upholstry. I came across the tyvek boat cover material several years ago and found it the very best for the job. Although it was only good for about 2 summers due to the suns deteriation of the fabric, its ability not to absorb heat and be extemely breathable, filled the bill. However, these covers have become scarce in being reasonably priced, now, for the size that I need.

It's certain that there are others that have faced the same problem and have found a cover material that have given good results.

Appreciate the help from everyone out there.

i use a "tent"type frame, with blue tarp, always enough air circulation.

My tyvek cover lasted only 2 months...maybe they found out they're not much good and that's why they're hard to find. I agree, it was nice -- easy to install, kept things clean/dry and took up almost no space when not in use.

I went with a Westland custom cover made from Sharkskin. It's been good for over 5 years now.
