Greetings, My 2004 Suk 70 on my 1890 Maritime was running fine. When taking her out for the season (and beating hurricane Irene) I had to motor up a shallow river.I did motor in very shallow water and could see the tall tale stream weakening. When I attempted to flush my motor, I got no tell tale water and she eventually tripped the heat alarm. I pulled the tell tale fitting and made sure all was clear. I removed the screens at the water intake, and she was clear. I suspect there is a clog somewhere. Is there a way to clear the coolant water line without dropping the lower unit? Many thanks. Chris

It could be time to replace your water pump impeller. They do degrade over time and can often dry up if not used for a while.

Hello patbalmos,
I actually put a new water pump impellar in this year. Thats why I think the line is clogged, if thats possible.
