Summer Night Fishing

Just wondering how many people this time of year night fish to beat the heat?
And what lures you use. I myself love to fish at night when it heats up. And used to think that the only place you could catch a bass at night was around a lighted boat dock.
Not any more I catch a lot on dark colored plastic worms..

Senkos, Shad Raps, Spinner baits, plastics … top water, middle level, deep … depends on what you are fishing for and what the conditions and water temp is …

As a kid back in the late 70s would go camp for the night with friends and catfish from the bank. Campfire, MD2020 and or some herbs to compliment out fire roasted hot dogs.

I agree..I've caught a couple on top water at night and it was like a rush..

Top water for bass is fun. Deep diving crank baits off the rock ledges and over rock flats for walleye (at the darkest part of the night). Trolling live alewives for stripper at 0.5 mph. Cut bait or live bait for catfish. Corn for carp. So many different fish to catch!

Never have done topwater at night. And I love trolling for strippers....

Some friends of mine have been going out at night and and sit in the boat where stripers very often push the bait fish to the top. When that happens they throw top water or shallow runners ( think rapalla J12) into the frenzy. They have been getting some nice ones. I’m going to give that a go this summer.

That sounds fun. A good full moon is nice ,,
