Every function that is controlled from the small control panel on the right side of the dash quit working at the same time, lights, horn, exhaust blower etc. All fuses are good and there is no sign of a short. I am getting plenty of power to the main gauge panel. I am stumped. Has anyone had this problem?

The fuse panel on most boats is hooked up directly from the battery. There should be a fuse close to the battery but not necessarily so. Especially on older boats.

Gauges are powered through the engine harness. The switch panel is powered through a separate "boat" harness. If the switch panel quit, then as was suggested, look back at the battery and you should find a fuse or circuit breaker in the smaller wire within a foot or so of the positive terminal on the battery. If that fuse is good, use a voltmeter or test light to follow the juice from the battery to the switch panel. When you lose it you found the problem. Remember, "shorts" blow fuses. "Open circuits" do not. You need a complete circuit as well. That means not only the positive circuit must be fully functional, so does the negative.
