Boy she sure fires right up doesn't she. Neat video especially as it's a royal PITA to be shooting video while driving a boat.

Thanks yeah barely have to touch the key to start it when warm. A bit more effort when cold though.

Thanks! The weather was awesome on Sunday so I just had to get out there. My engine is manual tilt so I was trying a bunch of runs like that with different tilt, trying to find the best setup.

Where on the Fraser? Was looking for a landmark but didn't recognize anything.

Gotta be careful in that river. Got a prop with a small chunk missing from around where it meets the Vedder.

That's right at the mouth of the river where it meets the ocean. The mountain in the background is Bowen Island, to my port side is UBC.

I know what you mean about being carefull in that river. Down where I was it's pretty deep but there are lots of logs and branches floating just under the surface. I also keep a spare prop and tools on board just in case.

I can a see a little secondary spray comming off the motor as if it sets just a little deep in the water, I get that spray too with my boat when it loaded down, bad enough that even splashes up the wet well, but with boat unloaded it goes away, I have no manual trim either and found it best to just leave it all the way trimmed in.

Yes, I noticed that spray too. That only appeared since I got the current prop. I guess my last prop had more stern lift than this one.

As it is currently set it will ventilate quite easily. I have to ease off the throttle as soon as it starts to plane or my prop will blow out. Then onece I have a bit more speed I can go back to full throttle.

This is with the motor trim set as far out as possible. I think I will try moving it in a notch or two and see how that goes. I mostly use the boat for long runs followed by trolling so my goal is max cruise speed and fuel economy.

I'd be a bit careful in that river too.

No longer too many logs as when they started using bundle rafts, it slowed the beachcombers from "liberating" individual logs from rafts, but there still are some, and they can be hard to see.

I used to buy, and transport logs in that river in the mid 80's. What a trip! They used to flat raft them, but I refused to buy non-bundled rafts, as too many logs would mysteriously go missing. Fog was the worst culprit, as after a good fog, individual logs would be blown all over the river.

Most of them would be recovered by what they called "beachcombers", but of course they required a "recovery fee"

We managed to avoid much of the losses, but we always managed to lose lots of chains that tugboat companies would somehow misplace. You'd a thought there would have been a shortage of chains for as many as they lost, but at $35 apiece most of these missing chains apparently found their way back to the rafting companies
