I am thinking of buying a Sunfish 14' sailboat for my first sailboat. I have never sailed before but think i can figure it out... Ha! Is this a good sailboat to begin with or should i find something else?

Re: Sunfish

I sail a 14' foot Hobie Cat with a 21 foot mast....... after going out on one with a friend..along time ago... I realized I had to get sailin...very fun...anyway... the hobie rips..flyes the hull like nothin...very fast and light...easy to trailer and just a pleasure to own......good luck with whatever you buy ....I recommend HOBIE CAT.

A Sunfish (or something similar) is probably one of the easiest boats to learn to sail, and is pretty forgiving. I really enjoyed sailing them. If you get serious about it, you'll probably want something bigger rather quickly - but for a first "I wanna' figure this out" boat, it's a good choice.
