sunken pontoon ... help please

we recently purchased a used pontoon, it sat on the river for months without taking on any water.<br />then we got 10 inches of rain and it filled up and sank, obviously leaking into the pontoons from above.<br /> fiberglass pontoons with no foam .<br /> it is sitting in about 6 feet of water. <br />does any one have any ideas or links of how to get it back up?? <br />I would appreciate any help!<br /> marcia

Air bags, a compressor...check with local dive shops to rent air bags or ask the dive shop for assistance.<br /><br />Bob

You said it's in a river. How fast is the water and how far away from shore is it?

if it was me i would get some big tractor tubes from a tire and put under the pontoons and then start putting a little bit of air in each one untill it floats enough to load it or get it off the water i did that with a sunk boat i may be wrong but i bet some how it rubbed a hole in the bottom good luck and i would use a air compressor to air them up with

Not sure what the bank is like but a tow truck should be able to pull it up high enough for you to get some good pumps into it

thanks everyone!! only one pontoon was full of water so we were able to pull it the 15' to shore, with a truck, and a few good friends!<br />we had our compressor and inner tubes waiting just in case.<br /> it was a baseball size hole in the top of the hull.<br /> is there any type of good foam one can fill the pontoons with before I fix the hull?<br /> I know alot of boat people hate foam! but I sure don't like the idea of sinking!<br />once again thanks alot!!
