Not sure if this is the correct forum or not.
Got a chance to buy an rv type refrigerator for my 26 foot sea ray. At the present time, the 5.7l mercruiser alternator seems to work ok, notice a drop in the charging to almost neutral when the lighter/chart light is used.
IF I install this refrigerator, whill I neeed a different alternator/regulator?

Re: supply/demand

I have a 'standard' mercruiser alternator on mine. I cruise at 1800 - 2000 rpm and it doesn't have any trouble charging the battery while the lights, music and fridge are on. You should be ok.

Re: supply/demand

add a second large deep cycle and an isolator. that way it can kill your starting battery
