so i have a 89 sunbird & the metal sleeve where the plug goes into spins. Which causes a little water to seep in while in the water. The cause was from my brother trying to man-handle the plug. The sleeve is flared on both sides, so it wont pull out. whats the common fix for this? thanks in advance!

Be certain to install it and SEAL it up with 3m5200 or 3m4200. Also slather a bit of sealant inside the hole before you install it.

Re: sure im not the first!

pretty much got a flat tip screw driver and hammer, crushed one side in a bit and used needle nose pliars to crush the ring enough to push it into the engine bay. When i installed it i coated all the wood inside the hole with my finger with sealant. Took me maybe 15 mins.
