In the market for new trailer, the electric over hydraulic is roughly $600 to $700 more. Any opinions as I have never had the electric over hydraulic system. I will be pulling a 6k pound boat dry, so the trailer is a dual axle 10k GVWR. Thanks

For $700 more Id buy it. With aboat/trailer that large it will be a nice feature and I'm sure within the budget.

I have it. I love it. Also makes it very easy to bleed brakes. You just step on the tow vehicle pedal or pull the breakaway switch and bleed away.

What brand actuator do you have? A local trailer guy said they have about a one second delay on whatever brand they use. Have you ever experienced that?

Thanks

I have the Titan and I have disc brakes. Drum brakes may have more delay because of the shoe to drum distance.

There may be a delay but it is more than likely the controller that causes most of that. What you really notice is the brakes will come on slightly if you just barely have the brake pedal depressed. Again, this is more of a controller issue. I have the newest Tekonsha which has a setting for electric/hydraulic brakes.
