susuki dt55 1996

motor starts fine and i guess runs fine to a point, but when i put the throttle wide open, the rpms only get to 800 which leaves me about<br />10 mph. i have installed new plugs and gas line<br />pump ball kit, out of the water with muffs on<br />the rpms are fine, just bad under load on lake.<br />anyone know?

Strange... How long has the motor been unused? Have you cleaned the carbs? Checked the fuel pump? Nice clean fuel? Fuel filter OK? Ball stay hard when running?

First check the linkages and control cable to make sure that the engine is seeing full throttle. If it was a dirty carb it would probably sound like it was dying or running poorly when you gave it full throttle. Verify that the carb butterflies are opening fully and that the control cables are operating correctly. 800 rpm is idle speed.

thanks adam and jimd,<br />i checked everything you said, i cleaned the fuel<br />pump with no luck...hate to take it to marina<br />in my area are known crooks.
