Re: suzuki 140 dt over heating
I have a 1987 DT85 with a similar history. You can do a search under Suzuki DT85 over the past year if you want to read them. I too had replaced the impeller, head gasket, thermostat, temp sensor, cleaned the coolant passages, exhaust plate gasket, and power head gasket trying to pin down an overheat only at WOT. I had installed a temp gage to confirm the overheats.

Eventually I retarded the ignition 3 degrees and have had no problem over the summer with lots of WOT and water skiing. Somebody said to check the water pump housing for scoring and ridges and I plan to do that and replace the water tube gromet this winter while I'm not using the boat so much. Maybe if that helps I can put my timing back to spec and recover some performance. I never really noticed a difference but I don't have a tach so its hard to tell. The engine has been good all summer. Good luck.
