Hi Guys...I have a 7 year-old ('ish) Suzuki 40 outboard with electric tilt which is necessary as the boat dries out on mud (and it is too heavy to lift :D)

The problem is that it will lift up but when I try to get the drive back in the water it won't move unless I rock it back and fore and then it seems to catch and goes down. Any ideas please?

Re: Suzuki 40 Outboard

..... I'd better add that the lift/lower motor works fine but nothing happens (unless the engine is rocked as I have already said) so it is not electrical (I hope!). Is it something to do with the piston ram? Does it need fluid? Help please !!

check your fluid level and ensure the release valve is tight.

Re: Suzuki 40 Outboard

grease it. There are three areas for the trim and stearing that might be low causing it to stick.
