Hi,<br />The year on a Suzuki is determined this way:<br /><br />
<br /><br />I had a Suzuki DT65 (1991) before and if I remember correct the serialnr metal plate was mounted on the side of the clamp bracket.<br /><br />Also the color on the Suzuki outboard can give a clue what Year it was made:<br />Blue engine: 1980-1982<br />Light grey engine: 1983-1988<br />Grey(almost towards green color): 1989-1996<br /><br />Clymer Suzuki Manual goes back to 1985 models.<br /><br />Check at Browns Point Marine Service Online store for Service Manual for DT50 (You have to register to check parts lockup and such)<br />
http://www.brownspoint.biz/ <br /><br />According to Browns Point the DT50 was made 1977 - 1984. If this is correct Clymer manual does not cover that range.<br />But Browns Point has the Service Manual for DT50 for $40:<br /><br />
<br /><br />There is also a User's Guide that came with the outboard when it was new that You should be able to order from a Suzuki dealer if You don't have it.<br /><br />DT50 has 2 cyl by the way (DT55 has 3 cyl).
