Suzuki 65hp won't accelerate quickly

my 65hp Suzuki (1990's) won't accelerate if i open up quickly, however, if i very slowly accelerate, it seems to kick in slowly, and the motor then runs sweetly.<br />any suggestions as to what this could be, he timing was re-adjusted, as this was thought to be the problem, the carbs have just been cleaned and other than the take off problem, it runs well.<br />thnks.

hello<br /> sounds like a carb is still clogged. what method did you use to "adjust" the timeing?

Hi,<br />I had a Suzuki DT65 (1991) before.<br />Fuel pump rubber diaphgram is also a thing I would check (or actually replace). The rubber is 15 years old now... probably time for replacement. Does it help to pump the "bulb" on the fuel line during acceleration?<br />Here is a picture of my DT65... (great outboard but I like my Yamaha F115 better - EFI, 4-stroke etc):<br /><br />
