Suzuki DF 140 - shuts down on plane

I have a '09 Suzuki DF 140 purchased last September w/ a new '09 boat. The engine has 300hrs and is run several days a week and receives fuel additives (PRi-G & Startron). Starting this summer, the engine often shuts down 15-30 seconds after running on plane. It appears that the engine sometimes runs out of fuel shortly after coming up on plane. If the engine makes it past the intial half minute on plane, it will run fine. There seems to be no problem with the gas lines and no water in the system. The local mechanic hooked the engine up to the computer and there were no diganostic problems seen by the computer. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes it will shut down 5 times a day and then not do it again for another 5 trips. The problem always happens after the engine has been run and is hot. Has anyone experienced or have a solution for this problem?

Thanks!

Chris

Can you recommend what I should do to fix the problem?

Since you are flashing no codes try connectlng this engine to a remote fuel tank a squeezing the primer bulb at the point of failure. If the engine dos'nt fail on the tank you have isolated the engine from the boat.If it fails but picks up squeezing the ball you have isolated the low pressure pump. After that you will need to see what is happening on the high pressure side of that fuel system and Suzuki makes that very interesting.Rather than a nice valve to attach the guage to you will need to loop a hose around to the guage at the tee near the fuel rail.Fuel pressuse there should be around 38 psi but run the engine and again see whats up at the point of failure. If you see that pessure drop dramatitcally at that point you will be looking into the VST.
