Suzuki DF 175 Oil Consumption

I have a one year old Suzuki DF 175 with around 110 hours on it. I had the engine serviced after the 20 breakin period. since the 20 hour service was performed I have added around 5 1/2 quarts of oil to the engine during various times throughout the year. I don't see any oil in the water around the lower unit or do I see any signs of smoke. I also only run the engine in the lower to mid ranges, never full throttle. The techs at the dealership claim that they have never had problems with these engines burning oil. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Change techs. I know that is not much help, but the tech should at least do a few checks on the engine. First what oil and the specs on the oil.
