suzuki df 90 oil

Just purchased my first 4stroke engine question on type oil to use in this 2001 suzuki df90hp does it use regular 10-40 10-30 oil like the car engines or just dealer marine oil confused thank's

Welcome to iboats. You should buy a Suzuki Service Manual if you plan to do your own maintenance. Use 10-40 API rated SE or better oil.<br />Use alcohol-free Unleaded 87 octane if possable. Good luck with your DF90, bet you're going to like it.

Suzuki says 87 octane minimum and recommends higher "when available". It also says up to 10% ethanol is okay.<br /><br />You really need an Owner's Manual as well as a Service Manual.<br /><br />Very little of what you know about 2 strokes applies.

Thank's JRJ and Jb i pull the cover off this bad boy totaly different from the 2strokes i had, will be getting me a manual for this one .. was able to change the internal fuel filter ..
