I have a 1999 DF40 that I bought new. For the last couple seasons, I've been bugged with a hesitation problem that I cant seem to completely resolve. Also, it doesn't always start right off like it used to, and sometimes takes a couple of tries before it stays running after a cold start. The hesitation problem is worst when coming off idle. I still love this motor and would appreciate any advice to get it back to 100%.

Work to date: New Plugs, High and low pressure fuel filters, Injectors removed and professionally cleaned, CMP sensor, MAP sensor vacuum hose. (the old hose looked like it was collapsed)

After taking all these steps, the formerly rough idle was cured, and it no longer dies when coming off idle, but a very annoying hesitation remains. Sorry for the long post, thanks for any ideas!

Have you relaced primer bulb or fuel line from bulb to motor?

Have you checked the anti-siphon valve? They have been known to harbor debris.

Or valve clearance. Sensors check with laptop? Correct spark sparkplugs?
