Suzuki DF90-what is a hole near water jet outlet?

Hello.I just recently bought new boat with Suzuki DF90 2006 model.<br />I noticed like gas outlet near of water jet outlet.<br />(aft side of engine)<br />I did not put attention from very beginning but my feeling it was a cap on this outlet .Now I can see smoke especially when just started engine and like exhaust gas running out from this hole.<br /><br />What is a purpose of this opening ?<br />Again , this port located on aft side (propeller side) just near of water control jet.(where water coming out for control of cooling)<br />Should this opening to be closed or not?<br />Thanks in advance for advce.

Its an exhaust outlet. Everything is normal. Not to worry and welcome to iboats

its the exhaust.. when throttling up, most part of exh. goes through prop, in slow in the little cap you found.

i have a problem in the similar area, however it is with the water output from the engine, we have just completed restoring a 1969 17' SlickCraft, and we had put an older Suzuki motor on it, however when we go to start the engine it cranks over and runs for a while however where we think the water is supposed to come outta the engine it's not! so the engine sounds great and wants to run but we don't want to damage n e thing, so we wanna look into why and where the water output is goin'..
