i have a suzuki dt 15 1989 the problem is when i start it for the first time i need to spray a little starting fluid to get it started.once i got it started i will run good if i turn it off for more than 30 minutes i need to spray it again but if its just 5 or 10 minutes it will start without having to spray it. just change water pump spark plugs new gear oil. any help would be very thankful.michael

Make sure the choke is fully closing.
Probably be a good time to clean the carb. Change the gasket behind the carb as well.

I had a Johnson that was a bear to start. The choke butterfly had a couple holes drilled in it from the factory. I sealed them with a 2 part epoxy and it fired on the first pull after that.

the carb is new water pump is new housing gasket and all. listen to yall's help i went and find out that the flap on the carb did not close all the way. choked it all the way and it crank. thanks guys.another question when i take off the motor rev up after it takes off then work fine after that.could it be that there isn't enough water when first take off. i got a 15 horse on a 14ft lowe aluminum jon boat. thanks
