I have just bought a Suzuki DT 40. Serial number 823325.

It starts and runs fine, but it has a slight knocking noise that gets less when revved up and increases when idle speed.

I can locate it to the crank/bearing area
I suspect it is due to being run for a short period without oil.

I expect to chance the main bearings, but could it be something else can anybody help me?

Regards.

Kim

Re: Suzuki DT 40

you can do a compression test but the bottom line will still be the same ( rebuild or replace powerhead )

Hello Don B.
You were right

I have located the problem to connecting rob bearing on the crank.

Do you know if they can be changed without changing the other bearings?
Kim
