suzuki dt115 help she has a cough

i have a 89 115 and its got a iregular cough/hickup at idle and at trolling speed. it is iregular most of the time, but sometimes it appears to be regular. sometime at idle it will cough and die, but most times it doesnt. it runs great at wide open throttle. have put in some seafoam and that seamed to work alittle. the sound is like a cough with a tweek at the end its a weard sound

trying to avoid taking it to a shop because since the sync tool is getting hard to find they charge a premium for a carb clean and syn job. havent got compression numbers yet but will today
i wish i could find one of those sync tools and i would do it myself

The carb linkage is non adjustable. How would you sync them? Check that fuel quick connect fitting at the cowling. The O ring and or the fitting becomes worn over the years and could cause a cough like sound. Also moisture in the gas can cause some strange sounds.

it takes this special device with 4 clear tubes withthese little styrofoam balls plugged into each carb. then you adjust each carb until all the balls are level. my repair guy doesnt have one and doesnt even know where to get one, so i have to take it to a dealer
