Suzuki DT115 will not shut off w/key

I have a Suzuki DT 115 that the motor will not shut off with the key switch, when you shut the switch off, the power trim or the electronic choke will no longer function but the motor keeps running, I have just mounted this motor on my boat and hate to buy a switch if it's a wire not right and I don't need it, Any ideas??

That happened to me once with a friend's boat. Pulled up to the dock after fishing and the thing wouldn't shut off! I pulled the fuel line to run it out of gas but that was a real kicker.

Pulled the hood off the motor to explore and there was a wire that came disconnected. Beats me, but plugging it in prevented this from ever happening again.

Ohm your ignition switch in the OFF position between GREEN and BLACK. It should show continuity. If it does, the power pack is defective, or there's a broken wire in-line to the pack. If the switch does NOT show continuity between GREEN and BLACK in the OFF position, the switch is defectrive.
