Suzuki DT140 regulator testing

Hi guys,

i have a Suzuki DT140 and suspect the regulator/rectifier is faulty, it has four wires (black, white, yellow & red) can any body help and tell me the correct procedure to test this item ??

an ohm meter, i have to l;ook it up, but i believe you check for current flow.black is ground, don't worry about it. red is output check for current flow on other 2 wires with red. attach positive lead to red and negitive lead to other 2 wires one at a time. Then reverse you meter leads, connect neg. to red wire at check resistance th other way. if rectifer is bad you will find that one of the connections reads both ways, an open diode means bad recifier.if you don't know how to check a diode then this post will be very confusing to you.I can scan and email procedure if you need
