does this motor have a starter?
just because it has a couple of wires does not mean it is set up with the ability to electricaly start

Those wouldn't be the wires for connecting a battery to the starter (if it has one) for electric start, they might be for connecting the charging system (again, if it has one) to the battery though.

Just about any key/ignition switch will work.

I'll have to get better pictures of everything and look for a starter.

There's a starter. Before I hook it up I want to switch to console steering. Memorial day was the first day I took out my little Sears boat and DT15 and I really enjoyed it but with the motor mounted to a Garelick EEz-In bracket the shift lever was a little difficult to get to and my arm became tired quick with how far back and up the tiller handle was. I'm sure they probably sell extensions but being this boat will be for when I'm fishing alone I would just rather have console steering. Just need to figure out what helm kit I need.
