Hi all, I am a newby to things boating
have recently aquired this boat and has constant alarm since purchase
I have been out in the boat, ran fine, not overheat, pumps water well,
remote suzuki steering box has the alarm
the alarm is constant, as soon as you turn the ignition and without starting the motor
Temp sensor appears to be fine
I have checked the oil level sensor, which is operating and sends constant loud alarm when low
The oil / temp LED light has not come on even when the oil level sensor is low
When you disconnect the blue/ white wire on either the oil level sensor, OR the oil warning light, the weak alarm stops
when I isolate the oil light, and put power to it, the light turns on, so it seems to be working
I have looked over all the wiring and cant find any obvious problems
I have taken apart control box and cant find any issues
I had a suzuki technician spend and hour on it and they seem to think its the CDI unit which they have quoted as being of $1000 plus labour.
Should the oil light come on when the oil is low?
I wonder if there could be something else that has been missed?
Is this something that is typical for the CDI?
Is there some way to bypass the CDI for this problem
