Hi All
Been a while since I've been here , nice to see the regulars are still here.
Well my 91 DT40 needs new bushes on the engine mount tube as the whole lot is a bit wobbly and i dont want it dropping off the back. I've removed the steering gear , and the mount tube nut was so badly corroded under the grease I was amazed when it came off first go.
I need to remove the tilt pin but thats frozen in place. I'm going to use a reciprocating saw to cut it out as its a light alloy and then remove the ram out of the way. Heres the questions.
In the manual and diags it states 2 bushes on the tilt ram at the pin end. Are the bushes very small. Doesn't look like two could fit in there.
Secondly on the top of the piston cylinder there is a rubber grommet through which the ram passes . This is not listed as a spare part, is there some reason for this or is it a trip to any hardware store.
I'm undecided what to do with the ram, weather to get the pro's to do it or do it myself, it is a saltwater motor.
