I just changed the prop on my DT 55. I haven't had the motor very long so I don't know it if was the original prop or not. It is a 1995. I took the "original" prop off and replaced it with a Turning Point Hustler 10 1/8 X 15 prop and the Masterguard Hub Kit #15A that was sold as the universal kit to fit my application.
Here is my question, on the "original" hub, the thrust washer was seated into a recess on the back of the hub. With the new hub, the thrust washer doesn't has a recess to seat into like the "original". Can I just put the thrust washer on the shaft and then the prop assembly and not worry about it? Or am I correct in showing a concern that there is no recess for the thrust washer to seat into?
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Robert
